Update- (May 2025) – Another successful project with Prairie Exteriors! We initially had our fireplace converted from wood to gas, though the contractor for that job was Focal Point Fire out of Baraboo, WI—not Prairie Exteriors. When our 2.5-year-old fireplace required servicing, we had to turn to another vendor, as Focal Point had gone out of business. During their inspection, the vendor discovered that the furnace exhaust behind the fireplace had not been properly connected and lacked adequate insulation.
I reached out to Prairie Exteriors, and we agreed to proceed on a time-and-material basis since no one knew exactly what was behind the wall. I also took responsibility for cementing the exhaust pipe, as it fell outside their scope of work.
The professional and courteous two-person crew arrived on time, removed the siding, and insulated the chimney space. They came prepared with all necessary materials, including pre-painted siding boards, ensuring a smooth and efficient job.

Update (November 2024): Once again, I chose Prairie Exteriors—this time to install gutter covers at my mother-in-law’s home. Given their history of reliability, excellent service, prompt communication, and competitive pricing, I didn’t seek bids from other contractors. They arrived as scheduled, completed the job efficiently, and ensured everything was done to perfection. Most importantly, my mother-in-law was delighted with the results.
