PRAIRIE EXTERIORS Service Area
Exterior Remodeling for DeForest Homes
DeForest doesn’t have the lake effect of Milwaukee or the isthmus wind tunnels of Madison, but don’t mistake that for easy winters. Sitting between the Wisconsin River corridor and the Yahara chain, DeForest gets the full brunt of south-central Wisconsin’s freeze-thaw season with none of the urban buffer. Rooflines take a beating. Siding gaps. Gutters pull away from fascia boards that spent six months cycling between frozen and thawed.
Prairie Exteriors knows this stretch of Dane County well.
We’ve worked on the older ranch homes along the highway corridor, the newer builds in the subdivisions east of town, and everything in between. Roofing, siding, gutters, and windows installed by crews who understand what a Wisconsin winter actually does to a house over time, and how to build against it.
No shortcuts on materials. No disappearing after the deposit.
Just honest estimates, manufacturer-certified products, and installation done the right way the first time.
Solid work. Fair prices. Built for DeForest.

What our Customers Say
After a hailstorm in late April, we reached out to Prairie Exteriors to take a look at the damage. Katie Cook from Prairie Exteriors came out right away, assessed everything, and worked directly with our insurance adjuster to make the whole process smooth and stress-free.
Once the claim was approved, Prairie got us on the schedule quickly for a full roof replacement and new siding on the front of our house. Their communication through texts, emails, and calls was outstanding. Katie is a pleasure to deal with. She is extremely responsive, professional and just plain excellent at her job.
What really stood out was their attention to detail. The last time we had our roof done (with a different company), we found nails in our yard for months. This time? Not one nail. Prairie’s cleanup was so thorough, it honestly blew us away.
We were so impressed, we ended up hiring them again to replace our old wooden deck with a composite one. It was just finished last week and it looks beautiful and exactly what we envisioned.
Highly, highly recommend Prairie Exteriors. They’re professional, responsive, and they really care about doing things right.
